I was approached by Jack Brookman at Falmouth University to compose for his final submission piece in third year, wanting a synth heavy yet sublte score. I had a lot of fun experimenting with Ableton 9’s FM syntherizer Operator, creating some wilder patches then reining them in with some hard cut EQing and filtering. I believe my experience with bass design really gave the score an edge, letting me call on my knowledge learned producing dubstep and 140. the score is best enjoyed on a big rig and with a sub that can handle some hard hitting low frequencies!
The short film went on to premier at the British Horror Film festival, debuting at Cineworld in Leicester Square, London, going on to win best student film.
